Can I bring in treats for a students birthday?

The answer is yes. The school handbook changed this year allowing us to once again have treats on birthdays.  We will not stop our regular schedule and have a party, but we will fit a treat in during the day at some point if you wish to send treats in. If a student wishes to distribute birthday party invitations in the classroom, ALL students must be invited, with no exception. Otherwise, invitations must be mailed from home.

Is homework mandatory?

The answer is YES!  I don't send home a lot of homework.

I do ask that you read with your child for 15 minutes every night.  I consider this critical in helping your child become a better reader.

Math homework is only sent home prior to a chapter test.  We use our writing time in Daily 3 to finish math homework.

Spelling homework comes home on the first school day of the week and is due on the last school day of the week.

Other homework may come home on occasion.

*homework should be completed by the child (with assistance if necessary)

Can I have lunch with my son/daughter?

Yes!  Most days we go to lunch at 11:48. You will have to sign in at the office when you get here, and if you plan to eat school lunch please call the office that morning to request a lunch. (Wed. lunch is at 11:34)
