Welcome to the Oakland School District website.  Our district is a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade district that offers a full range of academic programs designed to prepare students to either continue their education or to enter the workforce.

This summer, work will be completed on the Lake Crest Addition and all classes, with the exception of JH & HS physical education, will be housed under one roof.  All of our classrooms in both parts of the building are equipped with SMART board technology.  Students have access to 3 separate computer labs as well as a mobile lab.  It is my belief that technology alone is not the answer to improving education.  However, when integrated into a learning process that includes qualified, energetic, and caring teachers as well as responsible, inquiring students that are actively involved in learning, the learning experience is a positive experience for all involved.

Education is no longer simply the three R’s; Reading, (R)iting, and (R)ithmitic.  Education today includes teaching children about personal safety, social responsibilities, as well as, but not limited to, worldwide citizenship.  No longer is it simply the teacher and the student that takes on the responsibility of this learning.  Today, it is also takes parents and guardians, school administrators, the school board, as well as the local community as a whole to ensure that our students are prepared to enter the workforce be it immediately following high school graduation or after continued education.  The education of our children is a responsibility that we all bear.
